Thanks so much to Jess Door for allowing me to post her beautiful artwork. I ran across her pictures while submitting a piece for the AnimeNation May fan art contest. There were a lot of gorgeous submissions there and I had a field day browsing through them all. Couldn't resist asking 2 or 3 of the artists about their work. Heh. Anyway, Jess Door's pictures are wonderful. I especially love the way she used origami paper for the prints on K & K's clothing. Very cool. Please check out her page at the fan art section, folks. Akai Kitsune's wonderful Light of the Snow Red Village has been updated. I love this story. Well worth the time to read. Also, I've added some minor changes to the site itself. The contact button on the main menu now leads to an e-mail form for those (like me) who are lazy. Also added a guestmap in the miscellaneous section. Pointless, really, but it's fun to see where everyone's from. So click on the link and go stick a tack on your location, eh? Right now I'm the only one on there. Kinda boring that way. Congratulations to Akai Kitsune, amamiya (alias Mae), Calger459, Fitz, and Mir for being finalists in the 2002 Rurouni Kenshin Reader's Choice Fanfiction Awards! Links to their nominated stories can be found at the RKRCFA official site. Woohoo! Chapter 3 of mvdiva's First Moments is up. So is chapter 2 of my story, Oiran. On a less happy note, I feel the need to comment on bandwidth theft. Some of you may not know what it means. You may not even be aware that you're doing anything wrong. But it's a problem that plagues webmasters, myself included. There are a few folks out there who are direct-linking some of the images from my site on their own website/blogs. I'm flattered that you like those images, but please store those images on your own site. Bandwidth costs aren't a problem for me yet, but if this continues or if more people direct-link, it could be a problem in the future. For more info about bandwidth, georgerabe.com has a nice article on it. I've taken preliminary steps to prevent direct-linking. I hope this is enough. Please be aware that as a webmaster I have ways to find out who is direct-linking from my site. Anyway, sorry to preach and blabber on and on about this, but it's important to me. I'll stop now. Woohoo. Up way too late working on a fan art picture. This one isn't a sketch for a change. Actually spent some time on it. I still tried to keep the style pretty anime-ish, however, as opposed to a more realistic look. This one's called Battousai at the Dawn of the Meiji Era or something like that. Chapter 11 of Conspirator's ever-so-cool Descent into Madness is up. Man, I love this story. If you like it, please leave a review at fanfiction.net (the link is at the bottom of each page of the story). Authors love feedback, after all. As for me, Chapter 2 of Oiran is up at ffnet. I haven't posted it here yet. I'm currently working on some real artwork. Everything I've posted in my fanart gallery so far has basically been a sketch. Two new stories for the fan fiction section, woohoo! First, thanks to mvdiva for allowing me to archive her very cool fic, First Moments. A second chapter is apparently in the works, but chapter 1 actually works well as a one-shot. And second, Akai Kitsune has a new story, The Verge of Cessation, a companion piece/sequel to Consummation. Both stories are excellently written. Please read and let the authors know what you think! Chapter 10 of Conspirator's Descent into Madness has been posted here. I personally liked this chapter a lot. A bit on the darker side. I do love dark stories. Also, Akai Kitsune has posted a companion piece to her Consummation story at fanfiction.net. This one is called The Verge of Cessation, and the writing quality is excellent as usual. Meanwhile, I'm slowly working on Oiran. My work schedule's been pretty hectic lately, so I don't have as much time to write. Updates may take a while. Chapter 8 of Conspirator's Descent into Madness has been posted. Also, I've been trying to figure out the best way to display fan art of fan fiction stories archived here. I've decided to add a link in the Fan Art section. This way, you can see all the fan art for a particular story without having to find it buried in the text. For pictures of particular scenes, I've tried to include the chapter number it's from. This way, you can avoid any possible spoilers. Did that make sense? If not, check out the Fan Art section. I think navigation ought to be pretty easy. And as always, fan art and wallpaper submissions would be most welcome! To all the artists out there, please send in your work. I'm in for a very busy two weeks at work, but hopefully afterwards, I'll be able to do some nicer, more finished artwork and start on working on another story.
