Quite a few updates today....

Sincere thanks to Noa Eren for allowing me to post her Kenshin fan art. A beautiful pic of the rurouni with a lovely background. I can almost smell the flower petals and feel the wind blowing. Please have a look, everyone.

Much thanks to author c-ko who is also new to this site. C-ko's acerbically humorous fic, Technique of the Kamis and or Gods slash bakumatsu is an intentional example of what not to do when writing a fan fic. Folks who enjoy humor with a bit of a bite will love this.

Wombat's Ni To Iu Hitokiri is new and improved with updates/revisions for chapters 6 and 7. One of these days, I have to watch Monty Python's Holy Grail again. This story has got me into a Pythonish mood.

And finally, Fitz has another chapter up for the My Life side story, Moments in Time. Chapter 7 is from Kamatari's point of view. That in itself promises it'll be interesting, no? Please note that it helps to have read up to chapter 33 (34 at FFnet) of My Life before reading chapter 7 of Moments in Time. Both stories are well worth the time investment, IMHO.

Thanks so much to Allexandra Radcliffe for sending me two cool Kenshin wallpapers. The first one has a mysterious dream-like quality to it. The second one's a collage. Please check it out, everyone!

Many thanks to majinthing, a new artist at the fan art gallery here. She has two very cool pictures of Kenshin as a wanderer. I like the colors. And I love the way she draws cloth. The folds hang so beautifully.

Chapter 7 of wombat's hilarious Monty Python - Kenshin hybrid, Ni To Iu Hitokiri, has been posted. Please check it out! If you're a fan of Monty Python, you'll be in stitches from this fic.

And last but not least, Conspirator's incredible, Descent into Madness comes to a close in chapter 15, now posted at the fan fic section. This story, which I have followed with baited breath for months, finally comes to an end. And what a satisfying end it is! If you haven't read this fic about how Kenshin becomes a hitokiri, I highly recommend that you do so! I'm a bit sad that it's done now, but fortunately, Conspirator is planning on adding an epilogue. Joy! So I don't have to cry just yet....

Thanks to Eri Gaudiamo for allowing me to post two of his fantastic fan arts. A very colorful and energetic style. Please have a look at his gallery page, everyone!

Also, Akai Kitsune has a new story posted, a one-shot from Sano's POV. This one takes place at the end of the Jinchuu arc. As always, Akai is a master at characterizations. An excellent fic. The title is Covert Distractions.

Thanks so much to new artist sP for a gorgeous fanart of Kenshin sitting outside a building. Please take a look folks!

Whew! June's been kind of a nutty month for me. One week I'll have plenty of free time, and the next, I'm totally swamped with work and other events. The last few days were really busy! And this weekend's going to be even worse. So. Anyway, not much to add for today. Just a wallpaper I did of Misao.

Thanks so much to April-san for allowing two more of her stories to be added. First, her newest story, Questions Left Unanswered is a beautiful drama about a meeting between two warriors after the Bakumatsu. And then there's Team Spirits, a humorous piece with a very original premise, set at the end of the Kyoto arc. It practically had me rolling on the floor.

Thanks to everyone who has voted on the poll so far. I think I'll keep it going for the full month and close it on July 5th. I was originally going to run it longer, but I got more responses than I expected. Yay!

Update:   Thursday, June 19, 2003

I'm pleased to post a story by an author new to this site: By My Side, In Your Hands by Zeitgeist. It's refreshing for me to find a K&K fic that's a little dark and brimming with juicy angst, yet still a wonderfully romantic love story. Quite different from the more typical WAFFy fare. I really enjoyed this one!

"Hazy Perceptions", chapter 33 of Fitz's amazing My Life, is up! If you haven't read this story yet, you are seriously missing out on something wonderful. Oh, and yes, there is a discrepancy in chapter numbers between my site and FFnet. That's because of the "Fitz explains a few things" page. Please read and leave a review!

I am a lazy and impatient creature by nature. I prefer clicking on as few links as possible to get to a page I want. Heh. So...I added a little menu bar on the fan fiction page. Hopefully it will make navigating easier. If not, there's a link on it to make it go away. I've also added menu bars for large stories with 10 or more chapters. I hope these will be helpful. And I hope I don't have any mucked up links. Please e-mail me if you find one that doesn't work!

Update:

The latest chapter of Akai Kitsune's wonderful Light of the Snow Red Village has been posted. For those of you unfamiliar with this story, the summary reads: (Skip the rest of this paragraph if you haven't seen the OAV. The summary contains some spoilers.) "A twist of a situation causes Tomoe's death to be delayed, long enough for Kenshin's wandering to hold a new burden and support beyond any expectations..."

Piqued your interest, did it? It's a lengthy story, but you won't be able to stop once you start reading it. This will be the last update for a while, so soak it up while you can. It's going to be a long (and painful) wait!

Update:   Tuesday, June 17, 2003

Amamiya really writes the most fascinating one-shots. I've added two new ones by her, Phantoms and Tittle Tattle. The former is about Battousai from a different point of view. The latter deals with what the neighbors think of the residents of the Kamiya dojo. Thanks to amamiya for allowing me to post these.

Also, chapter 6 of wombat's Ni To Iu Hitokiri is up. Cool, heh. And the latest chapter of Akai Kitsune's epic, Light of the Snow Red Village has been posted at FFnet. I'll be archiving it here in a day or two. Finally, I've made some minor changes to the format of the fan fic index pages and author pages. Hopefully the stories will be easier to find, and the author pages will be a little easier to read.

As always, if you like any of the fan fic stories, please feel free to leave a review at FFnet. (Links are at the bottom of the story pages.) Authors live for feedback. And hey, you don't need to register to review.

Sincere thanks to wombat for allowing me to post three of her fan fics. Enishi's Bathrobe Writes a Fanfic is hilarious. The title itself makes me smile. Monty Python fans will appreciate Ni To Iu Hitokiri, a weird mix of RK and Python sketches. And finally, for something more serious, Mitsutomoe is a marvelously romantic tale with some beautiful imagery and poignant moments.

I have a new picture in my fan art gallery. This one's of Battousai in a boat. Yet another image of Kenshin looking sad. I'm very happy with the way this turned out though. It was inspired by a very brief scene in OAV 1, and it actually looks like what I picture in my head. That doesn't happen very often, so I'm always really glad when it does.

Don't forget to check out Jrnn's Tsubame picture too, please. It's lovely!

More minor updates in the links section. I update the links page so often, I usually don't even bother announcing the changes.

Thanks so much to Jrnn Doyle for her lovely fan art of Tsubame! I love the textures and the colors, especially of the green kimono. A very cool drawing style. Jrnn Doyle also has another artwork already up at this site: the picture of Kenshin with a kite from Conspirator's Descent into Madness art page.

Chapter 6 of Fitz's Moments in Time is up. This story is a side story to My Life, so please make sure you've read Ch32 (The Smoking Gun) of My Life before reading this chapter. And as usual, please review it at FFnet. In general, authors love feedback.

One more minor addition. I've got a monochromatic sketch of Tomoe up in my sketch page.

Update:

Not much happening lately, I'm afraid. I did make two more wallpapers. One of Yahiko (grown up) and one of Kenshin and Tomoe. Poor Yahiko. He never seems to get as much attention as the rest of them, eh? Also, Fitz has part 6 of Moments in Time up at FFnet. I'll be posting it here in a day or two. As always, I hope people will take the plunge and submit some artwork or wallpapers. (Smiles brightly and blinks large innocent eyes.) So, you'll send them, yes? Heh.

Congratulations to Dax and zeroed (and, uh, me too, heehee) for THIS! Yay! That's never happened to me before. Can you tell I'm excited? Okay, that's it for now. No updates yet 'cause I'm still at work. (Grumble.)

Conspirator has been kind enough to send me chapter 14 of Descent into Madness. As you know, FFnet has been a bit touchy and difficult to access lately, so the latest chapter is being posted here (and at TFME) first for a change. Please check it out, folks. This is one hell of a cool story. And thanks again, Conspirator!

Also, I was finally able to post part 2 of Amamiya's excellent story, Prelude to a Nightmare. Some wonderful insights into Battousai's psyche in this one. Please read!

I was on vacation last week, and apparently, my brain still is. I left off the first of Calger's 3 (not 2!) new vignettes for Prism. This one's from Yahiko's point of view. Sorry about that, Calger!

Update:

Chapter 4 of mvdiva's very cool First Moments is up. It marks the conclusion of this story. Please check it out folks.

Also, Calger has two new vignettes written for her story, Prism: one from Sano's point of view, and another from Kaoru. Both very insightful! Again, take a look, please!

I know amamiya has something new posted for her story Prelude to a Nightmare, but I haven't been able to read it yet let alone post it here since the ffnet site is, unfortunately, down again. Ack! I hate it when it's down. All the more reason to archive my favorite stories so that I can read them whenever I want here. Heh. Anyway, I'll update her story as soon as I am able to.

Meanwhile, my drawing frenzy continues. When the drawing muse hits, I can't slow down. Woohoo! Currently working on two pictures. One of young Kenshin and one of Kamatari. I'll post them when I finish them. Who knows when that'll be....

And as for website related stuff (stop reading now if you're not interested)... Please leave a comment in the guestmap! I would love to know where you're all from! And please vote on the poll. Thanks to the 8 people who've done so already. Your input is much appreciated.

Chapter 32 of Fitz's My Life is up. This chapter, titled The Smoking Gun had me literally shaky when I finished reading it. Please check it out folks. If you haven't read her story, it's quite lengthy, but completely worth it. Very tense. But for something lighter, try The Art of Seduction, also by Fitz. That one cracked me up.

Thanks also to Ariel Wolff for her cute new picture of Kaoru. Please check out her gallery, folks!

I've got a new piece of fan art of mine posted. It's a picture of Gein from the Jinchuu arc. I felt I had to do something a little darker after that WAFFy K&K pic. Heehee!

Finally, thanks to everyone who has left comments in the guestbook and guestmap so far. In response to a recent question on the guestbook, no, I'm sorry, but I don't plan on posting any mp3's. However, if you're looking for some, try Psychotik Rurouni Kenshin. Plenty of them on that huge site.

Sincere and utmost thanks to Annie Navarro for allowing me to post her beautiful artwork in the gallery. She's another artist that I found via the AnimeNation fan art contest. I love her style. Very clean and precise lines. Please check out her artwork in the fan art gallery!

Also, chapter 13 of Conspirator's Descent into Madness has been added. This is one of my favorite chapters thus far. Emotionally charged!

Update:   Thursday, June 05, 2003

It takes me a long time to update fan fiction pages seeing as I'm using pokey HTML. So why the heck did I ask Fitz if I could add her epic-sized story My Life to the archive? Because it's really, really good, that's why. Thank you, Fitz, for letting me post your story! Please check it out, folks. (Just note that it's one of the few stories at the archive that is rated R. Fitz's author page and individual chapter pages contain more specific warnings.) I've also included her other fic, Moments in Time which is a side story to My Life. Wonderful stuff!

I've also started a poll. I'll change the question every few months or so. These are just things I want to ask visitors so that I can make improvements to this site. Links to the poll can be found on the main page (the one right after you click "Enter" from this page) and the Miscellaneous page. Current topic: Should I include shonen-ai stories in the archive? I'd appreciate your input, folks. Thanks!

I am positively in heaven. Huge number of updates tonight. Many thanks go to the three following artists whose work I happened to see at the AnimeNation RK fan art contest:

Dax: Three lovely images including one of Megumi based on actress Zhang Zi-Yi that is simply jaw-dropping.

Mirana: Seven wonderful pictures including adorable Valentine and Easter themed images, as well as very cool depictions of Kenshin and Sano of which "Battosai" is my favorite.

zeroed: Six gorgeous images of Kenshin and other characters. The Bloodlust picture in particular is amazing.

Thanks to all three artists for allowing me to post their work. Please check out their galleries. I tell you, I'm drooling, I'm so happy.

Update:

I have a new story (by me) posted in the fan fic section. It's called Soul of a Hitokiri. If you read it, I hope you enjoy it. And I did a little housecleaning in the fan art section. Stuck most of my pics in a separate Sketches gallery since most of my pictures until recently were just that, sketches that I made to give this poor little site some content. But now that there are several other wonderful artists archived here, I don't need to do that anymore, ha ha ha! Oh, almost forgot. I have a new picture of K&K in my gallery too. Warning, though, it's extremely sappy!
