SachiAmi has a lovely new pic posted in the fanfic art section for Angrybee's fic, Hajime and Tokio. It's a cool action shot of Jikiri as Nakenashi.

JupiterK also has a fanfic art posted. This one's for Akai Kitsune's fic, Light of the Snow Red Village. It's a cute and very happy pic of Hikari-chan.

Thanks to SachiAmi and JupiterK for sending these in. Please do check out both works of art, everyone!

Thanks so much to Steffel, a new artist at this site, for sending in a wonderful pencil drawing of Kenshin done in a realistic style. His face looks strong yet still graceful in this. Nicely done. I love the eyes in particular. Thanks so much for sharing your art, Steffel. Please go have a look at it, everyone!

I've received a couple other wonderful art submissions too. I'll have those posted for Friday's update. (My apologies to the artists for the delay.)

Angrybee may tar and feather me if she likes. I still am behind in reading her fic, Hajime and Tokio. However, from what I've read, this is one of those rare fan fics that really is awe-inspiring. Skillfully written with a fantastic plot. Intricately detailed characterizations that are quite moving. If you haven't read this, please do yourself a favor and take a look. The last chapter has been posted.

There is a fan art contest still in progress for this fic. Check out the rules and entries at Angrybee's site. The link is in her profile and on the Home/Announcements page.

Fans of Linay's Broken Pieces will be very pleased to see that she's got a new chapter up. This gritty tale of Battousai and Kaoru continues with the addition of a new character in this chapter. (I won't give away who it is.) Linay has a way with descriptions of seedy underworld types. And her chilling interpretation of Battousai's character is always interesting to read. Do check it out, everyone.

Eiko Makimachi, a new artist at this site, has five beautiful Kenshin pics to contribute. I love the vibrant colors and the great backgrounds. Kenshin is so adorably drawn. My favorite of these is "The Cold Night". Wonderful title for a wonderful pic. Thanks so much to Eiko Makimachi for graciously allowing me to host her art.

Monica has a cool new oekaki pic of Battousai posted. I like how Battousai was done in shades of grey while his surroundings are in color. And it's an appropriate color, especially if one considers the single word etched in the background. Nicely conceived. Thanks for sending this in, Monica.

Namida has another great wallpaper posted. I find the emotional tone of this one really intriguing. It's in monochrome with several very serious pics of Kenshin. And yet in the background, there's a small pic of him in an "oro" styled pose. Intriguing contrast. I like it. Thanks so much for sending this, Namida.

Please check out all these great new images, everyone!

Oh, and a reminder.... If you've browsed through the entire art gallery (sheesh!) and are still looking for more artwork, there's always the oekaki board. There are plenty of nice pics there. And you can always draw something and leave your own art for all to see. (<---Heh, shameless plug.)

Sincere thanks to Namida, a new wallpaper artist at this site, for sending in a very cool looking monochrome wall of Kenshin. The negative image has the right brightness and contrast to make it very striking. The textures are nice too. It's a great wall. Do have a look, everyone!

Akai Kitsune has a new story posted. Footprints in the Waters is a collection of fics based on other RK fan fics. As always, Akai Kitsune's stories are very strong in characterizations. Do have a look, folks!

Tomuyu, a new artist to this site, has two gorgeous pics of Kenshin posted. Done in a beautiful, detailed style and full of fluid movement. The colors are great, especially the shade of blue used for Kenshin's gi. I love the way his hair flows in both pics. Thanks so much for allowing me to post these, tomuyu. Everyone, please take a look.

Blitzballbaby has a lovely new pic of Kenshin posted in her gallery. As always, the lineart is very clean, and the figure is elegantly depicted. Great subject matter. Great emotional complexity. I love the warm colors and the quiet tone of this. Thanks for allowing me to post the new pic, Blitzballbaby. Please have a look at it, folks.

Ani Kawashima, a new artist at this gallery, has 18 wonderful pictures posted, and I'm thrilled. The colors are brilliant, the line art clean. Her chibi pics are particularly adorable and filled with emotion. All Ani's artwork is great, but my favorite pic, is "Beautiful Dream". Thank you so much for allowing me to post these, Ani Kawashima. Please have a look at her pics, everyone.

Tokio Saitou (the first artist to ever send a submission to my site) has three great new pictures posted. The first is a picture of Kenshin in both rurouni and Battousai form. The other two are pictures of Saitou and Tokio for Angrybee's Hajime and Tokio fanart contest. You can find those two pics in the fan fic art section at the bottom of the main art gallery page. Gorgeous pencil drawings, all of them. Please check it out, folks!

Shimizu Hitomi has two new stories up at the archive. Sanity is a short companion piece to Meditation and a wonderful look into more of Aoshi's inner thoughts. All That Mattered is a (possibly disturbing) look at Aoshi and Misao's relationship. It's definitely a different type of story from what I usually post here, but I liked this one because it depicts Aoshi and Misao in a way I've not seen before. And there are some really poignant moments. (However, I have to warn you that this fic isn't for everyone. Some may be offended by it.) Anyway, thanks so much to Shimizu Hitomi for allowing me to post these very cool stories. Please take a look, folks!

Sorry, no update today. I haven't received much mail recently. Also, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have classes from 9AM to 10PM, so they're kind of long, tiring days. This semester's going to be a very busy one for me. I'll try to update sometime tomorrow. Too sleepy... going to bed.... G'night, folks. :-)

Angrybee has a bunch of new fics posted at the archive. Two new stories, Sundial featuring Aoshi, Misao, and the rest of the Oniwabanshu, and A Sakabatou for Baka Saitou, with Kenshin and Saitou. Both wonderful fics. Also, the latest chapter of her epic Hajime and Tokio has been added. Thanks for allowing me to post the new fics, Angrybee.

Speaking of Hajime and Tokio, Chiisai Lammy has a great new fanart based on Angrybee's story. You can find this pic either at the bottom section of the fanart gallery or by going to Angrybee's author page. It's a beautiful picture. I love the way Chiisai Lammy has portrayed Tokio: quiet and elegant. So fitting of her character. Thanks so much for sending in the wonderful art, Chiisai Lammy.

Greta has another new pic for her gallery page. This one's an alternate universe type pic featuring Kenshin as a yakuza crimelord. It's an interesting take on Kenshin's character. Plus it's always neat to see RK characters wearing clothes from other time eras. Thanks for sending in the artwork, Greta!

Please check out all the new stuff, everyone. There's plenty to browse through.

Greta has a gorgeous new monochrome pic of Kenshin added to her gallery. The shading and line work are very well done, the expression on his face is really intense, and the pose is just cool as can be. It's Kenshin, holding his sword, about to strike. Sweeeeet.

Trunkschan90 has a great new pic of Sano and Megumi as parents. I really like the subtle colors and the textures. I find the geometry of the background pleasing. And the baby is adorable. A quiet and warm moment. Sano/Megumi fans ought to be very pleased.

Rinoa Tilmitt has three amazing new pictures for her gallery. As always, I love the brilliant colors and fine details on her works. All three pics are fantastic, but I especially liked the Yahiko and Tsubame pic. It's a rare treat to see fanart of those two together.

Thanks so much to all three artists for sharing their great pictures. Please check out all their galleries, everyone!

I've also got some new things posted. I have a pic up at the gallery. It's a dark piece, of Kenshin in his Battousai days fighting the Shinsengumi. This one took me a particularly long time to do since I'm weak when it comes to drawing action. But I'm pleased with the result this time. Also, chapter 5 of my latest fic has been posted in the archive.

Thanks to those who e-mailed me about my fingers. LOL, I'm okay today. Nothing's broken, and obviously, I'm able to type again. Joy.

One more final note of interest. I received my first accusation of art theft today. Someone didn't believe that I had painted my latest pic. Woohoo, I feel like a real artist now! I have to admit I was quite angry at first, but now I'm just amused. (And I'm also glad I keep all my original photoshop files, phew!)

Sherlgirl has another wonderful picture posted. This one features Megumi, Aoshi, and Sano. Elegant with subtle coloring and beautiful lighting. Thank you for sending this in, sherlgirl. Please, everyone, check it out!

Chapter 5 of my latest fic is up at FFnet. I'll have it posted here once I get my lazy butt in gear and format it for the site. I'll probably have a new painting done in the next day or two as well. This one's taking me a while.

Tracey Kindale has a chibi Kenshin pic up at the gallery. It's so cute! Thanks so much to Tracey Kindale for allowing me to post this. Please have a look, everyone.

A reminder to all those who use the oekaki board. Oekaki BBS allows storage of about 80 pics. Any more than that, and the oldest images automatically get deleted. So if you want to keep your picture, don't forget to save it to your hard drive.

I'm currently working on the latest chapter of my Sea story. Real life keeps getting in the way of this, hence the delay. My apologies to those who have been kept waiting. It ought to be done either tonight or tomorrow. (Unless yet another unexpected real life event pops up. Sheesh! :-P)

The Narrator has a lovely new pic posted of Kenshin and his family in a really tender and beautiful moment. Peaceful, as the title implies. Great linework. And Kenji is adorable. Thanks for the new pic, Narrator. Please have a look, everyone!

Calger459 has written a new one-shot! The story deals with a startling secret revealed and the emotional upheaval that follows. Puzzles is a short fic inspired by one of my stories, Recovery. I am so flattered that a writer I respect as much as Calger-san has done me this honor. Thank you so much for writing this, Calger459.

Greta, a new artist at the site, has a terrific pencil drawing of a very young Kenshin (before he got his scar) posted. I love the way Greta has drawn his eyes. They're absolutely beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing your art, Greta.

Frostedsaiyan, also a new artist at this site, has a couple of cute pencil drawings of Kenshin and Sanosuke. I especially love the chibi Sanosukce pic. An impish pose and a face full of mischief. Many thanks for the pics, Frostedsaiyan.

Kalon Akarui has 3 beautiful new pics posted. Rich colors and clean lines. My favorite is the picture of Hitokiri Battousai. I love the fluid motion of his hair and the wonderful detail on his sword. Thank you for sending these, Kalon Akarui.

Sherlgirl has a marvelous pic of the men from RK posted. Filled with action, with gorgeous colors and shading, sherlgirl's pics never fail to disappoint. Thanks so much for sending these in, sherlgirl.

A lot of updates today. All wonderful stuff! So please be sure to check them all out, folks.

Chapter 20 of Angrybee's epic Hajime and Tokio has been added. If you like intelligent stories with action, suspense, a great plot, and incredible characterizations, then do yourself a favor and check this one out if you haven't already. You'll thank me for it. And you'll worship Angrybee. Oh, and a reminder to all: There is a fanart contest for this story being run at FFnet. A link to the rules is listed on my Announcements section on the Welcome/Home page. So put your thinking caps on and whip up some art. Woohoo!

Kalon Akarui, a new artist at this site, has contributed a marvelous picture of Kenshin. Vibrant colors and great shading. It's a lively pic with a real sense of movement. And personally, I really love the color choice for the gi. (Red, not magenta.) A fantastic piece. Thanks so much for sending it, Kalon Akarui. Please check it out, everyone.

Nanami-yuki, another new artist at this site, has a gorgeous painting of the rurouni done in very subtle, almost monochromatic, colors. It's quite a different style from what I normally see of RK fanart. And I love the textures of the background. Sincere thanks for allowing me to post this, nanami-yuki. Do have a look, folks.

And last but not least, Chiisai Lammy has a lovely new pencil drawing of Tomoe up in the gallery. Nice linework and shading. Tomoe's personality is wonderfully conveyed here. Her facial expression is really striking. The mood of the picture is really wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing, Chiisai Lammy. Please take a look, everyone.

Some other minor adjustments. Artist zeroed's alias has been changed to 'Ai' in order to match the name on the artist's website. What else.... I've fixed the colors on the guestbook. Just a minor adjustment, but the old purple scheme was really annoying me.

And that's all for today. Whew!

A lot of nice artwork today....

Panhda, a new artist at this site, has two gorgeous wallpapers that will have Yahiko fans smiling from ear to ear. The walls are beautiful with subtle colors, a multitude of canon images, and cool transparent layer effects. Nice layout and design. My sincere thanks to Panhda for the generous contribution. Have a look, everyone!

Black Aquamarine, also a new artist at this site, has two excellent pencil drawings. The first one is of Kenshin. I love the way he looks here. Delicately beautiful features, clean linework, and nice shading. The second one is of Kenshin and Kaoru in a sweetly tender moment. Both are great! Thanks so much to Black Aquamarine. Please take a look, folks!

Tracey Kindale, another new artist to this site, has a lovely picture of Kenshin wielding a sword. I don't know how she managed it, but Kenshin looks beautiful and elegant even though the background consists of blood spattered everywhere. Action-packed with gorgeous color. Thanks to Tracey Kindale for allowing me to post this. Please have a look, everyone.

Finally, artist JupiterK has a new picture for the gallery. This one is simple in concept, but I love it because it's really cute and absolutely hilarious. I laughed out loud the first time I saw it. Oh, and the swirls are rather mesmerizing, I must say. Ha! Thanks so much to JupiterK for sending this one in. Please check it out, people.

Shimizu Hitomi, a new author to this archive, has two wonderful one-shots posted. Meditation is an exploration of Aoshi's thoughts after the Kyoto Arc events. I really liked the rhythmic feel of the piece. It really sets an interesting tone. Seiya no Kinen takes place during the events described in the Kenshin Kaden (five years after the the manga timeline). It features an interesting meeting between Megumi and a certain okashira.... Thanks so much to Shimizu Hitomi for allowing me to host her fics. Please have a look at them, everyone!

I'm afraid I haven't had a chance to work on my own fic just yet. Spent 14 hours driving/sitting on a plane/waiting at the airport/ more driving today, so I hope you'll understand if I need a little break. Also, I have a major assignment due on January 4th (yeah, I got assigned homework over winter break, wee) and I'm afraid that comes first. So please be patient, if you happen to be waiting for an update.

Finally, a little rant. I edited this page at my parents' computer (using Notepad) over vacation time, and now that I'm back on my own computer and using Wordpad, all the formatting is horribly wrong. There are no line breaks in my HTML coding. Ororororo. It's an absolute mess right now. :(

Happy New Year, everyone!

Thanks so much to '526', the newest artist in the gallery and the first for 2004. '526' apparently already has a rather large on-line following. I can see why. The fighting chibi Kenshin wall by '526' is very, very cool. Great colors, great pose, and a wonderfully polished professional look. Please check it out, everyone. Thanks to Crystal Renee for bringing the wall to my notice, and thanks to '526' for being gracious enough to allow me to post it.

Well, I'll be on a plane or at various airports for most of tomorrow, so there won't be an update. But hopefully, I'll get some writing done.
