A lot of really cool art for today. Please check out all the new artwork by the following artists. A new artist at this site, blood-n-thunder has a hilarious pic of Kenshin titled "thrust, kenshin, thrust" that had me laughing out loud the first time I saw it. Original idea. Priceless pose and expression on his face. Thanks so much to blood-n-thunder for allowing me to post her work. Kheriah, also a new artist at this site, has two very pretty Kaoru drawings done on traditional media. I really like the rich colors in the first piece. And the shading is nicely done in the second. Great job on these. Thanks so much to Kheriah for sharing her work. Artist Donna has 11 great pics added. From fun Halloween costumes to pics of Yahiko to sweet moments with Kenshin and Kenji. Lovely work. I particularly like the shading and coloring in the "Sakabato" pic with Kenshin and Yahiko. Thanks so much to Donna for sending these in. Artist Soujiro has an adorable pic of a chibi-styled Soujiro posted. Soujiro's adorable here, and the sword is just too cute. The sword's probably my favorite part of the pic. Thanks so much to Soujiro for sending in this wonderful piece. And lastly, kenji nakamura has a new pic posted of Okita. I like kenji's clean and neat style. It's very distinctive. Okita looks great here. Great job on giving the character a solid, three-dimensional feel. And nice foreshortening on the sword. Thanks to kenji for sending in his art. Chapter 20 of Nekotsuki's Tanabata Jasmine has been posted. The plot thickens and the search for Kenshin continues in this very cool fic. I'd rather not give too much of it away, since it's a pleasure to find out as one reads. But needless to say, please check out this story. It's a good one. Other happy news. Rurouni Kenshin is now showing up on Cartoon Network's TV schedule. Saturday, October 23, at 10:30 PM Eastern Time on Toonami. It's on the official site now. Chapter 19 of Tanabata Jasmine by Nekotsuki has been added. For those of you who haven't read this action-packed fic yet, please do take a look at it. It's worth checking out. I can't give too many details without giving away spoilers, but basically, Kenshin gets into serious trouble while buying flowers one day, and uh, a lot of interesting stuff happens afterwards. Many thanks to scortia, a new artist at this site, for allowing me to post her elegantly beautiful pencil drawing of Battousai. I like the delicate lines and shading. The folds in his clothing are nicely done. And the expression on his face is wonderful. Gorgeous work. Please have a look, everyone. Artist kenji nakamura, another new contributor to this site, has two cool pics of Kenshin and Kaoru as well as a lovely blue wallpaper. I like the bold, bright colors. ConRtist always manages to come up with the funniest pics, and this new pencil drawing of Kenshin and Sano doesn't disappoint. Kenshin's expression is...well, it's priceless. Nice line art and poses. UPDATES: Plenty of lovely new art today. Please check out all the artists' new works, everyone. Donna has a new pic in the gallery that is absolutely adorable. Kenshin and sakura blossoms. Shinomori Misao has three fun pics featuring various RK characters dressed up in Halloween costumes. The Kenshin one is my favorite. Hooray for Halloween. Thanks very much to Shinomori Misao for the great new art. Tokio Saitou has two excellent new pieces. The first is a cool pic of Enishi and Kaoru. And the second is a Tsuiokuhen pic with an intriguing composition that I really like. Wonderful work as always. Thanks to Tokio Saitou for sharing her work. The Narrator has two awesome new walls in the wallpaper gallery. Lovely colors and clean extractions. I really enjoyed these, especially the one with Kenshin in a red gi against a tiled background. UPDATES: Neko Oni's got a new pic in the gallery that's stunning for its rich colors and detailed textures. Kenshin, Kaoru, and Sano in an AU setting. They look great, and their costumes are marvelous. And Neko Oni always gives her pic the most interesting titles. Please check it out, folks. Thanks so much to Neko Oni for sharing her work. Shinomori Misao has several wonderful new pics of the women in the Kenshingumi. I think Shinomori Misao got Kaoru, Megumi, and Misao's personalities perfectly in the poses. Misao's blushing cheeks was an especially nice touch. Nice pencil work and delicate shading. Great job. Thanks very much to Shinomori Misao for sending in her work. Please have a look, everyone. ~~~~~~~~~~ MISCELLANEOUS NOTES: On Lost Artwork Submissions.... If you have sent me an artwork submission, and I have not posted it, I can think of three possibilities for the lapse. First, my e-mail server does eat messages on occasion. Second, you may have failed to submit it to the proper e-mail address. Or third, I may have simply had one of my idiot moments and screwed up. (Hey, I'm only human. It happens.) If your pic has not been posted, you can always e-mail me to ask what's going on. I'm usually quite reasonable to deal with, and I'll try to fix the problem as quickly as possible. There really is no need to jump to conclusions, become insulted, and publically write rude little messages in my guestbook. That is not the appropriate way to file a complaint, and I certainly will not dignify such behavior with a response. So if you have a problem, please let me know in a mature and reasonable manner. I'll be much more likely to help you out that way. ~~~~~~~~~~ On the Frequency of Site Updates.... Regulars at this site may have noticed that updates here have been slower than usual. Well, relatively slow, I suppose, since I think updates twice a week still isn't that bad for most sites. This is partly due to fewer submissions (they naturally tend to be slower this time of year since everyone has school) and partly because of my schedule. I'm currently crewing on a student film, and we shoot on weekends which means that I use the weekdays to get my schoolwork assignments and errands done. Doesn't leave much time for playing online, I'm afraid. Shooting ends in two weeks though, so I'll hopefully be able to update more frequently again. So thanks very much for your patience, everyone.
