Happy Thanksgiving to all the Americans out there. And as for the rest of the world, have a nice weekend. :)

I'm very sorry I haven't updated or responded to e-mails. I've really had a crazy few weeks. One more week of craziness to go, and then my workload should let up a bit. All my major assignments are due in early December, so once those are done, I'll update like a madwoman and also finish chapter 10 of Sea. Thanks for hanging in there, everyone.

Peace and love,
HB

Sorry, folks. Been a bit busy lately. (It's a good kind of busy.) I've received some very cool artwork and some funny Oro! sightings. (To the senders: I'll be e-mailing you confirmation messages soon.) I can't wait to get them uploaded, but I haven't had the time to do so yet. Hopefully sometime early this week. Thanks for your patience, everyone. :)

JaneDrew, a new author to this site, has a wonderful songfic called Heart, Sword, and Song posted in the archive. A series of vignettes told through the points of view of several RK characters, these are insightful explorations of what they might have thought during some of the most fascinating moments in the RK timeline. Beautiful, beautiful writing. Please check it out, everyone.

Linay updated her AU epic Broken Pieces two months ago, and I failed to post it here. Sorry about that oversight! A very satisfying final chapter to a very cool fic. I think most RK fanfic readers have heard of this one, so there's no need to plug it here, but.... Go read it if you haven't.

Thanks to Sherlgirl for letting me know about a new Rurouni Kenshin RPG. They're looking for new members to play. The RPG boasts some impressive names including the moderators, fujifunmum, Angrybee, and Sherlgirl herself. Please have a look at their info page if you're interested in joining the fun.

Conspirator has updated!!! 'Nuff said.

Nekotsuki has also updated!!! Heehee.

O happy day for fic readers, eh? :)

Jelley has several cool oekaki artworks to add to the gallery. My favorite one is titled "Bloodsoaked Rain". I really like the color pallette in that one. I also like the sense of mystery about it. Lovely work, Jelley. Thanks for sending these in. Please check them out, everyone.

Thanks so much to Chococat for sending in two fascinating new entries for the Oro! page. With these pictures, evidence indicates that Oros have migrated much farther South than we ever imagined. Also, another surprising discovery is made. Do take a look, everyone.

Addendum: I've discovered a few legit e-mails have somehow been shunted into my spam folder. I have no idea why that's happening, but I'm worried I might have deleted legit e-mails along with all the spam when I empty my spam folder every week. So if you've e-mailed me, and I don't respond within a week, please resend your message. I usually respond to e-mails fairly promptly. If I don't, then chances are, I never saw it. I'll be keeping an eye out for stray e-mails in my spam folder from now on.

Please check out the various contributions today. Plenty of interesting stuff to look at.

Artist Wingstar has a great pic of a Halloween pumpkin carving she made. A cute carving with a hilarious title. Made me laugh seeing it. I do apologize for not getting this pic posted in time for Halloween though. Thanks so much to Wingstar for sending this in.

Artist Shinomori Misao has 5 new wonderful Kenshingumi pics posted in the fanart gallery as well as a cool Kenshingumi wallpaper. The Misao and Aoshi pic has a nice sweet moment to it. The Megumi pic is mischievous and fun. Nicely done. Thanks so much to Shinomori Misao for sending these in.

Thanks to kenji nakamura for sending in a screen capture of yet another "Oro" sighting. Oro hunting has become a hobby of mine. I vow to finally understand the true nature of this elusive creature. Thanks so much to Kenji for sending in his awesome Oro pic. And to anyone else who has evidence of Oros wandering around in the world, do send them in, and I'll post them on my growing Oro! page.

Finally, it is with great pleasure (and no small amount of glee) that I announce the formation of a Conspirator fan-forum started by BakaBokken and Misaoshiru. RCUS (Rabid Conspirator Update Society) is up and running and seeking new members. I've added a link on my links page so people can visit anytime, mwahaha. (Ha, Conspirator, if you see this, I bet you're blushing.) Thanks so much to Misaoshiru and BakaBokken for this cool project.

And that's it for today. Back to normal site colors too, by the way, so if you're still seeing the orange and purple stuff from Halloween, please hit the old refresh button.

A wonderful new story has been added to the archive. Hanami by Heartsea is a post-Seisohen fic that is beautifully written. Poignant, elegant, and insightful. The fic is told from a rather unusal point of view: Ayame-chan as a twenty-something year-old young woman. Also features Kenji and other familiar members of the Kenshingumi. Thanks so much to Heartsea for allowing me to post this story. Please check it out, everyone.

And in other news, Secretarytocapt3 from Shinsengumi Headquarters is hosting a Uniform Contest. Quite an original theme for a contest, this looks to be very cool. And the prize is wonderful too. Thanks to secretarytocapt3 for bringing this to my attention. Do have a look, everyone. It looks like fun.
