CONTEST Entry 21 - Wistful-Eye's picture features a very dramatic scene with a wonderfully poignant concept of what could have been. I like the dreamy blurriness of the pic. Entry 22 - Konartist, a new artist at this site, has a cute pic of Kenshin thinking about two very different scenarios. Heh. The stick figures are a unique touch. Entry 23 - Hope-chan's hilarious pic of Kenshin and Kaoru offers a very different kind of dream. Kenshin's expression and pose are priceless. FANART Spitfire, a new artist at the site, has a lovely pic of Kenshin in the woods. I like the expression on Kenshin's face. He looks so sad. Kenshin's Soul has a couple of new pics that are sure to make you smile. June 20th is Kenshin's birthday, and these pics show the more... humorous side of aging. Hee! Anithene has a new pic of Misao, Soujirou, and Aoshi. I like the layout and symbolism. An interesting idea for a pic. The flowers and plants are nicely done. Tera-chan has seven new pictures to add to the gallery. I'm impressed by the range in media and styles. Several of the pics have gorgeous coloring. Sherlgirl has two great pics of Takasugi and Enishi. Sherlgirl's pics usually feature wonderful coloring, shading, and facial expressions. These are no exception. WALLPAPERS StoveTop has another cool wallpaper to add to the gallery. This one features Kenshin in an unusual array of purple lines. MISCELLANY Two new polls. CONTEST Entry #16 - A beautiful drawing by artist Jess. I love the contrast between light and dark. And the expressions are so sad and wistful. The flowers add a nice delicacy to it all. Entry #17 and 18 - Two lovely works of art by Sekido. I love the colors and the flower background in the Yumi pic. And the Kenshin and Tomoe pic is wonderfully haunting. I like how Kenshin is colored while everything else is relatively desaturated. Entry #19 - Pyramidgirl89's picture is both cute and so sad at the same time. I like the colors. I also like how the background is blurred, while Kenshin remains in focus. Entry #20 - A gorgeous entry by Melissa (KitsuneOnna). I like the composition and the movement in the pic. Nice textures as well. And plenty of cool symbolism to be found. FANFICS Fans of Nekotsuki's Tanabata Jasmine will be glad to know that although the story is over, Nekotsuki has written an omake that's rather... zany and odd. LOL. FANART New artist lil_rmast has a lovely anthro drawing of Kenshin. I like the vibrant colors and the determined expression on his face. Nice choice of animal too. It's very fitting. Anithene has a new pic that is quite interesting for its symbolism. A very unusual take on a very unusual couple. I don't think I've ever seen Soujirou and Misao portrayed anything like this before. WALLPAPERS Stovetop, a new wallpaper artist at this site, has sent in a gorgeous Kyoto arc wall featuring Kenshin, Saitou, and Shishio. Marvelous layout and design, not to mention great characters. A milestone has been reached. My heartfelt thanks to all the generous contributing artists who have sent in pictures to this site. The fanart gallery now boasts over 1000 Ruroken pictures. When I first created this site, I never dreamed so many people would be willing to share their creations. Thank you so much, everyone! CONTEST Entries #14 and #15. Artist mimi has two cool submissions for the contest. The first is a faint picture and wonderful poem about Kaoru's dream, and the second is a very interesting one of Kaoru and Kenshin in the palms of someone's hands. Definitely an intriguing pic. Entries #12 and #13. Hope-Chan, a new artist at this site, has two very different pictures submitted. The first features a serious pic of Kenshin with some lovely shading. I like how pronounced his scar is. The second features quite the humorous scene between Kenshin, Kaoru and Sano. FANFICS Conspirator's awesome story, An Unexpected Lesson, comes to its exciting conclusion after 12 chapters. Need I really say anything here? I think the general consensus among regulars at this site is that Conspirator's fics are among the best. This one's got it all. Drama, humor, action, and even pretty kimonos. If you haven't read this yet, I can't recommend this enough. Conspirator and Co-Conspirator have mentioned that there will be an epilogue after this chapter. I'm looking forward to it. FANART Besides her contest entries, Hope-Chan has sent in four wonderful drawings for the art gallery. Her pics cover a wide range of emotions from the very dramatic "My Nightmare, My Dream" to the adorable "KENSHIIIIN". (Heh, I like the title of that one. It cracks me up.) I laughed out loud when I first saw secretarytocapt3's wonderfully funny parody pic of the upcoming Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. You'll see what I mean when you click on it. What a fun idea. Ben Constantinides has two cool new pencil drawings for the gallery. The first one features Kenshin vs. Saitou. The second is a very cool drawing of a rather mean looking Saitou. I like his wolfish facial expression. WALLPAPERS New wallpaper artist aReNieX has sent in a beautifully vibrant wall of Kenshin. I like the colors and textures on this one.
