Update:   Thursday, March 30, 2006

A mini-update today.

Anithene has a lovely new pic. I like the dramatic pose and colors (especially the rich blues).

Leah has a nice new Kenshin pic. I like the happy expression on his face.

I've added the latest 3 chapters of Courtship of Lady Tokio by Mio. I haven't had a chance to update chapters 14-18 though. Will work on that later. Anyway, if you haven't read this yet, I would encourage you to start. It's beautifully written.

And that's it for today. Next update probably won't happen for another week. I'm working this weekend, so I probably won't be able to work on the site.

Update:   Wednesday, March 29, 2006

Well, believe it or not... After half a year of nothing, I finally have a new update. Granted, it's a small one, but still, I've emerged from under my rock. And I think I've finally shaken the stupid burnout I had over the winter.

Classes are still busy right now, but they're easing up a bit. And now that I have finished shooting one of my best friends' thesis projects (a project that consumed most of my winter), I can concentrate on other things again.

Please note that this update is by no means complete. There are still about 500 hundred something e-mails to go through before I'm caught up. And no, I'm not kidding. There are literally over 500 messages to check. (Most of them will most likely be spam and not art submissions, but still....)

So I'm easing myself in and updating a little bit at a time. If you've sent me anything in the last 6 months, please don't re-send just yet. I'll most likely get to your message eventually. If after I'm all caught up, you still haven't heard from me, then please feel free to send your submission again. But I'd appreciate if you hold off until I'm caught up. I won't be updating quite as frequently as I used to, but I will try to keep the updates coming regularly.

Oh, some more housekeeping before I get to the update.... The contest from last summer. As far as I know, I got all the prizes to everyone that responded. There were a few people who never e-mailed me their prize request as of November. If you guys still want your prizes, the offer still stands. I'll be checking through my inbox in case you did e-mail me sometime over the winter, and I haven't read your message yet. And as for people who joined in the contest and still don't have their own gallery pages.... I'll be getting to those as well, eventually.

One final thing.... Holy cow, I seem to have won one of the RKRC awards. Um... Man, am I out of the loop. Thanks very much to whoever was crazy enought to vote for Sea. I really have no idea what to say... except that I'd better finish that story soon, I suppose. Wow. Really, I'm so flattered and honored. Thank you! And congrats to the other winners and nominees.

Okay, enough prattling.

Welcome to three great new artists at the site:

Dlin, a friend of mine from another site I frequent, did a wonderful picture of Kenshin for me as her half of an art-trade. Thanks so much for the gorgeous pic.

Mark Wells has a cool pencil drawing of Kenshin. I think he looks rather intimidating, even without his sword.

Wicked Enough has a colorful and lively style that I like. She's sent in two pics. One of Misao with a fan, and another of Misao with... heh, I'll let you see the surprise for youself. Nope, it isn't Aoshi....

And thanks two returning artists:

A new pic of Fujita Goro and his two sons, Tsutomu and Tsuyoshi, by artist secretarytocapt3. The kids are absolutely adorable.

Siobhan has four new pictures. My favorite is one of Cho. It's so rare to see fanart of him. Even rarer yet to see it done so well.

Oh, and 2 new polls on the polls page.
