Okay, People's Choice Voting is now officially over. ^_^ I'm going to be crewing on a shoot for the next week, so I may or may not be able to update fanarts. I'll do my best! Judging for the contest is in progress. The contest results will be announced on Tuesday, August 15th at approximately 6PM PST. As always, please feel free to view the contest judging criteria. As stated on the very top of the contest info page, this contest is not a typical art contest and does not quite follow typical art contest judging rules. It's been like that every year I've held this, and this year's no different. But the regulars know that, right? ^_^ Finally, Angelic Kenshin (visit her site!) has been kind enough to make a lovely award for me. I'm really touched. If you didn't figure this out already, the contest is now over. ^_^ Thanks so much to the artists who sent stuff in. The level of arty goodness is really high this year. I'm having a lot of trouble deciding, and I have a feeling the other 7 judges will have an equally difficult time of it. I didn't get a chance to comment on the last half-dozen or so entries that were sent in. So here goes.... 30 - NariSon - A simple, yet beautifully executed pic of Battousai and Tomoe. I like the clean look of this. And interesting choice to make Tomoe greyscale while Kenshin's in color. Beautiful style on this. 31 - Spaceroses - A very cute and sweet idea. And as a person who freaks out at the site of spiders, I can totally relate to Misao's anxiety here. Heehee. The expression on her face is priceless. Nicely done. 32 - Sakkun - The sheer scale of this pic is impressive with so many characters included. All the major influences of Kenshin's life, for better or worse. I really like how happy Kenshin looks here. Wonderful. 33 - Tokio Saitou - A hilarious concept with a very fitting title. This piece made me laugh in delight. Kaoru and Megumi are especially great. I think their facial expressions are just fantastic. 34 - heibai - A delightful idea in this picture that shows the love-hate relationship between Megumi and Sano. The "Stupidity Medicine" insert and the little skull and crossbones are an especially nice touch. 35 - heibai - This one has an intriguing idea of Battousai and a tiny little version of himself. With a gift message from Tomoe no less.... I like the contrast of the life-sized and tiny versions. 36 - heibai - This may be the only fanart that includes Watsuki-sensei himself in the image. Heh. Nice concept. Beautiful colors and textures. And I like the choice of showing Sano as Zanza, since he was Kenshin's enemy still at the time.
